HSE to Build Sport Complex in Moscow

HSE will build a three-story fitness complex near the Kaluzhskaya metro stop in Moscow, adding to the university’s sports and recreation infrastructure. The complex will include a swimming pool along with a number of fitness rooms and sports halls. The Moscow Committee for Architecture and Urban Development has already given the project the green light. Let’s see what the city’s Chief Architect Sergey Kuznetsov had to say about HSE’s new addition.

Winter Adventures with HSE Extreme Sports Club

Karelia, Mount Elbrus, Bulgaria, Georgia, Krasnaya Polyana, and Andorra - this winter the Extreme Sports Club invites students, alumni and HSE staff members to set off for winter adventures. While many of the events have already become solid HSE traditions, some of them are being held for the first time. The projects are supported by HSE Department of Physical Training.

HSE Yacht Club Announces New Enrolment

HSE students and staff are invited to try their hand at yachting under the supervision of experienced instructors. The HSE Yacht Club will be holding theoretical and practical classes during the winter.

1st place

in sailing was the HSE team’s achievement at the 29th Moscow Student Sport Games, which were held on September 25 at the Klyazminsky reservoir. The HSE team scored 60 points in the regatta.

Learning a new sport is good for the brain and no worse than traditional intellectual games. And who needs a clear mind more than a student? That’s why a lot of sports clubs have been established at HSE, and they will be represented at the ‘Sports and Activities’ platform.

Economics of sports was one of the topics featured at the recent April Academic Conference. A section led by HSE Deputy Vice Rector Dmitry Dagaev included sessions dedicated to financial and organizational regulation, competitive balance, and determinants of success in sport. Two of the sessions were moderated by international scholars, Prof. Dennis Coates and Dr. Tim Pawlowski, who have talked to HSE News about their research interests and the importance of sports in modern global economy.
