On February 15–17, the Winter SOS (School of Snow) was held at the Zhebrei ski resort. The event was organised by the HSE Perm Tourist Club and the Student and Alumni Centre. In addition to learning to ski and snowboard, students from all HSE University campuses developed and defended projects focused on the development of domestic tourism in their regions. SOS participants shared their impressions with the HSE News Service.
This year, the HSE Basketball League applied for MarSpo, a professional award in sports marketing, for the first time. And right away, the league was shortlisted in the ‘Best Marketing Project in Sports and Healthy Lifestyle Promotion: Game Sports’ category.
The Russia-Uruguay match was shown on a big screen in the media courtyard, offering teachers, staff, and students at HSE the chance to cheer on their chosen side. Exchange students from other countries also joined in. Although the match was somewhat disappointing, the atmosphere in the media courtyard was celebratory and positive. The 27th Open Camping Weekend organized by the HSE Extreme Sports Club was held on May 26-28. About 350 HSE students, staff members and graduates took part in this event.
Organized by Extreme Sports Club HSE, HSE Camping Weekend is a great chance to spend two days out of the city, meet a large number of Russian students, and enjoy the beauty of the countryside. Sitting around the campfire and singing guitar songs together is something that will definitely give you warm memories for a long time.
On March 4, 2017, the winter sports HSE Snow Fest took place at the Kant alpine skiing centre. The event was organized by the Extreme Sports Club together with HSE student associations and received support from the Student Initiative Support Centre.
