HSE Students Win Bronze in World Rafting Cup

At the end of July the city of Sagana (Kenya) hosted the World Rafting Cup—the sport’s biggest international competition, drawing competitors from around the world. While it was the debut international tournament for HSE students, they achieved great success, with the Russian crew winning the bronze medal in the Mixed category.

‘We Came Here to Win’

Madin Natok, second-year student of HSE University’s Business Informatics programme, has spent the last decade playing basketball. This season, he was named the best young player in the Russian 3×3 Championship, and he is now preparing for an international tournament in China as part of the Russian U21 national team. HSE Master’s Student Becomes Seven-Time Russian Motor Racing Champion

In October, Mikhail Simonov reaffirmed his title as the Russian ring racing champion in the premier TCR Russia class, becoming the youngest champion in the history of this category. The racing champion is a second-year student in the Master’s Programme in International Sports Management, Marketing, and Law at HSE University. In an interview with the HSE News Service, he shared his perspective on how to succeed both in professional sports and in academics.
