Karelia, Mount Elbrus, Bulgaria, Georgia, Krasnaya Polyana, and Andorra - this winter the Extreme Sports Club invites students, alumni and HSE staff members to set off for winter adventures. While many of the events have already become solid HSE traditions, some of them are being held for the first time. The projects are supported by HSE Department of Physical Training.
HSE students and staff are invited to try their hand at yachting under the supervision of experienced instructors. The HSE Yacht Club will be holding theoretical and practical classes during the winter.
Ivan Lysko, a professional rugby player, played for Russian national youth teams at both the European and World championships, and today is Vice President of the Russian Rugby Premier League and coach of the HSE team. He told us about the benefits of this sport and about how to join the rugby club at HSE.
HSE Extreme Sports Club invites students, lecturers, and graduates of all HSE campuses as well as their families and friends to spend a week in Sochi from 14th to 20th March 2016. Registration is open until February 21st.

Finland is a great destination if you enjoy snowboarding, ice fishing and other winter activities. Registration is open until December 31.
The sports tourism contest where teams of four (hence the name) compete against each other was held in the Greater Moscow Area. Hundreds of teams from all over Russia and Belarus took part. HSE was represented by 11 students and 3 alumni. The events included long distance running and crossing ravines with ropes.
On October 18, the opening ceremony for a new sports ground took place at HSE's Voronovo Student Center. The sports ground was fully funded by the HSE Endowment, and is the first project delivered on endowment funds.
