HSE Holds Table Tennis Championship among International Students

Mixed-sex teams representing eight university faculties took part in the HSE Winter Tennis Cup, an interfaculty table tennis championship for international students. The team of the Faculty of Mathematics won the competition. The tournament was organised with the support of the Department of Internationalisation and the Department of Physical Training.

In early September, the HSE Rowing Club won silver medals of the international Golden Blades Regatta. HSE alumnus and HSE Rowing Club founder Anton Koshelev (’20, Faculty of World Economy and World Politics), who is now a Master’s student at the University of Munich, told the HSE News Service about the team’s creation, his hectic student-athlete schedule, and his dream of competing against Cambridge.

HSE Gets Its Qwn Football Fanzone

The Russia-Uruguay match was shown on a big screen in the media courtyard, offering teachers, staff, and students at HSE the chance to cheer on their chosen side. Exchange students from other countries also joined in. Although the match was somewhat disappointing, the atmosphere in the media courtyard was celebratory and positive. Construction of HSE Sports Centre to Start in October 2017

The Centre will include a swimming pool, a climbing wall, a gym, as well as dedicated space for basketball, tennis, badminton and other sports. The plan is to build the three-storey venue of almost 12,000 sq.m in under two years.

HSE to Hold its First Fun Run

Run √25, the first fun run organized by HSE, will take place on May 28 at Gorky Park. Our University is now 25 years old, and we’ll run 5 km together to celebrate this anniversary (or rather, our ‘anti-versary’) - along Pushkinskaya Naberezhnaya and Andreevskaya Naberezhnaya, from the Green Theatre to Luzhnetsky Bridge, and back again. Think of it as running from the darkness of ignorance, unbelievable stupidity, and bad grades as fast as we can!
